Coach Juan's Corner
Hello PSA Family,
We're glad to announce that the next step has been taken to make our swimmer's experience much more comfortable and enjoyable. Just in time
for winter, we installed a room heater in our pool room that will help keep our swimmers nice and cozy when they get out of the water.

Along with that, we installed a dryer on deck for wet clothes and towels. Many of our parents have been using it as a convenient towel warmer right before the end of class. For those waiting until spring to start back taking lessons, know that its always warm in our facility even in January and February.
I would also like to introduce, or re-introduce, Katherine Barickman who has returned to PSA after finishing her degree in education. We are excited about the experience she brings to the aquatic classroom.
For those of you looking for a great Christmas gift idea, we are offering gift certificates again this year in a decorative box. See Pam or Jason about pricing for a swim package for next year. We see a lot of Grandparents buying swim lessons for their grandkids.

Coach Spotlight - Katherine Barickman
Katherine
Barickman was born, raised, and currently resides in Friendswood, Texas. She has always enjoyed being in and around water. She was first introduced to the pool at the early age of 4 months. At the age of 3, she began to take structured swimming lessons with Mrs. Charlotte Summers. By the time she turned 8, her mom felt she was ready to try out for the Wahoo's, their neighborhood summer swim team, where she swam every summer until the age of 18. The same summer she began swimming with the Wahoo's she also started to compete on The Aquanauts of Clear Lake, a year-round synchronized swimming team. She competed with The Aquanauts until high school. During her freshman and sophomore years of high school, Katherine swam and played water polo for Clear Brook.
Katherine's coaching career began when she was 16, for the Wahoo's Swim Team as a lane coach. She has continued to work as a swim
instructor over the years in Houston and San Antonio. She began coaching for Pearland Swim Academy in the summer of 2008. Once the summer ended she returned to The University of Texas at San Antonio to continue pursuing her degree as a Physical Education Teacher. She is very excited to be back in the Houston Area and once again working for Pearland Swim Academy. Besides coaching at Pearland Swim Academy on Thursday nights, she also coaches the Pre-Competitive II and Bronze II groups for PEAK, Pearland's year-round swim team.
Katherine is finishing up her senior year at The University of Texas at San Antonio by student teaching for Clear Creek Independent School District as a Physical Education Teacher. She will graduate this December with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Kinesiology with a Specialization in K-12 Physical Education. After graduation she will seek employment as a K-12
Physical Education Teacher for a local school district.
In her spare time, Katherine loves to swim, dance, run, cycle, beach comb, and play with her 4 year old, Miniature Pinscher Mix, Harley

Upcoming Holidays
We will be closed on the following days...
November 21st-27th and December 19th-January 2nd
Those of you who have lessons that fall on these dates will not be charged for the
lessons.
Holiday Billing
Our usual billing date for those of you on our monthly auto-draft is on the 21st of the month for the following month. Since we will be closed during the 21st of November and December, our billing date for November will be the 18th and our billing date for December will be the 17th.
